In a time where brands occupy a relational role in our political economy, in which they form consumer communities, inspire clan-like loyalties, and are increasingly understood through the language of relationships, trademark law plays a critical role in creating and maintaining a brand’s identity. This seminar invites Dr. Alexandra Mogyoros from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law to speak on her working paper in which she proposes a reformed conceptual foundation for trademark protection which re-orients the roles of truth and trust in branding. The event also welcomes Michal Kasprowicz, Partner at DLA Piper specializing in patents and trademarks, as a discussant. Join the LTEC Lab in this critical reflection on the cultural and legal evolution of brands and their regulation.
